RANDWICK horseman Pat Webster called for the urgent introduction of training partnerships to Sydney racing after his son Wayne was instrumental in preparing Mizone for an upset win in the Frank Underwood Cup at Rosehill yesterday.

"The horse is a credit to Wayne and also [jockey] Mitchell Bell," Webster said after Mizone's ($16) neck victory in the $80,000 listed event.

"Wayne has done all the work in getting this horse right and Mitchell has been putting in all the work riding him on the track.

"I'm so thrilled for the pair of them. It would be great if Wayne's name could be down as a trainer in partnership with me so he could get the recognition he deserves."

Training partnerships are allowed in Victoria, but Racing NSW chief steward Ray Murrihy said a number of issues need to be thrashed out before that could happen in NSW.

"Racing NSW supports the idea of partnerships and we will address the situation at a stewards conference early next month," Murrihy said.
