Gilly Digs In For A Great Partnership

Adam Gilchrist has been involved in some great partnerships.
With Warne and McGrath, he was a record-breaking keeper to brilliant bowlers slow and fast. And I still remember his 238-run partnership with Justin Langer in just his second Test. They engineered an unlikely victory over Pakistan's Akram, Waqar and Shoaib in Hobart. Then there's his 317-run jaunt with Damien Martyn to defeat South Africa at Wanderers, when he made his highest Test score of 204 not out. In the last World Cup final he and Hayden made 178 for the first wicket, with Hayden scoring only 38 of those! But Gilchrist's comments at his retirement put all sport into proper perspective. Because he reminded us of his most important partnership: with his wife, Mel and his children.Thank you Gilly for the cricketing memories and for giving priority and honour to your family!Rev Sandy Grant, Wollongong.
